I promise you I was not sleeping on the latest from A$AP Mob, I’ve just finally gotten the time to actually sit down and write down my thoughts on the Harlem crew’s second project titled Cozy Tapes Vol. 1 : Friends.
After the loss of the Mob’s founder, A$AP Yams, the members have been steady paying tribute to him all year with a variety of different tracks and collabs, among those “Yamborghini High” which is featured on the album.
As reported by Complex, Rocky stated that a lot of this project was “assembled from a blueprint that Yams left for him and the Mob” and I think they definitely did him justice on this tape. With features from Wiz Khalifa, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, MadeinTYO and more, they’ve managed to maintain that same hype energy mixed with that straight coolin’ flow they’re so well known for.
An overall cohesive album, “Put That on My Set” ft. A$AP Rocky and Skepta is definitely my go to track off Cozy Tapes.
