I think it’s safe to say that Kendrick Lamar’s album To Pimp a Butterfly, has definitely impacted me and has gotten me thinking this past week. At the end of his track “Mortal Man” he reads a letter he wrote to iconic rapper Tupac Shakur and he has 2Pac respond back to him and it was one of the most powerful “conversations” I’ve ever heard between two artists.
Tupac wasn’t lying when he said:
“I’m not saying I’m gonna change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that will change the world.”
It’s tough to compare anyone to Tupac because he was one in a million but if there ever was someone that could live up to his legacy it would be Kendrick Lamar,but that’s just my opinion.
