From conquering the runways in Puerto Rico to now making her presence known in New York,Keyshla Maisonet is the Latin bombshell all the guys want and all the girls want to be friends with!
This long-legged beauty started her career as a model when she was just 14 years old and she hasn’t looked back since. During my modeling days in PR I really wasn’t able to get to know Keyshla as much but since we’ve both been on the pursuit of our dreams in the concrete jungle, I’ve been able to connect with her and get to know the real KK and it’s no wonder she’s been so successful in her career, her personality is even more beautiful than her physical appearance.
Check out the brief interview I had with Keyshla below and get to know who some of her inspirations are, what she would be doing if she wasn’t a model and who her celeb crush is!
How would you describe your personal style?
“Honestly, I would say I have a lot of different styles. One day I might be Sporty just like the next day I’ll be super sexy “desacato!” haha I can also be very simple, my style is very versatile. ”
Do any artists/celebrities influence your taste in fashion?
• ” Since my style varies I follow all types of fashion but some of the artists/celebrities that catch my attention are Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Riri, Gigi Hadid and Joan Smalls. I also loved Selena’s fashion sense. Aaliyah also had a different style but very cool.”
What kind of music do you like to listen to when you’re getting ready with your girls before a night out?
“Hahah like a true Puerto Rican, I love listening to old school Reggaeton haha and also some Hip-Hop!”
What’s the last song you listened to?
“Hahaha – Chantaje by Maluma and Shakira “
If you weren’t modeling what else would you be doing?
“Wow! I don’t think anyone has ever asked me that question. I would definitely be in my island and I would finish my studies in Medicine and be practicing it.”
What do you hope to accomplish with your modeling career?
” I have so many things that I want to accomplish but one of my biggest goals, which I don’t think is just mine but most likely every single models dream, is to be a Victoria’s Secret model. But until that happens I’m focusing on having my name be on every single magazine cover and biggest campaigns.”
Who are some of your inspirations in the industry?
“One of the models that inspires me the most on a daily basis is my fellow boricua Joan Smalls. In Puerto Rico they rejected her a lot but she didn’t let that affect her. She went where her heart told her and despite all of the obstacles and thanks to her love and passion she’s one of the most important models in the world.”
If you could collaborate or be the face of any designer’s brand who would it be?
“Versace, Balmain, Fendi, Adidas, Nike …basically all of the ones I can possibly do! Hahah”
I know modeling can be a tough industry, what do you do to help motivate you and keep you going after a hard day?
“What I like doing most after a hard day is sit on the subway,put my headphones one, raise the volume and listen to Hillsong, I think their music helps me to communicate with God. Another thing I like to do is go to the gym and get together with my girlfriends, I love talking to them!”

My Top 5 tips are:

-Moisturizer: Cristina Forever Young
– Primer: Clinique
-Before going to bed I drink a lot of water
– I also like to do a hair mask once a week
You have the talent and the beauty, do you ever see yourself competing in a beauty pageant?
“Hahah ay ay ay! That’s something I haven’t ruled out yet.. ; )”
I know all of my male readers are wondering right now…are you single or taken?!
“I’m single for the moment, focused on me.”
What would your ideal date be?
” Haha I’m blushing…to be honest I’m super simple when it comes to going on a date. They can take me to the movies, out to eat, to the beach and talk. Something cute. I don’t like when someone tries to impress me with material things. The memories and good moments are what last forever.”
Who is your celeb crush?
” Haha El papasito, Maluma, I’m literally in love with him!”
